Vintage1979 Hand made SEXTANT Commodore NOEL BEVAN RN For Boat LISTA LIGHT

Vintage1979 Hand made SEXTANT Commodore NOEL BEVAN RN For Boat LISTA LIGHT This is one of the lots I have that belonged to a very eminent naval officer, Surgeon Commodore Noel Bevan, indeed he actually made it. This was Bevan's 1st attempt at making a sextant and is far superior and looks much nicer than his later models. It dates to 1979 and was made especially for Bevan's boat "Lista Light" which had originally been an Norwegian fish transporter boat (built in 1935) and purchased and converted in to a cruising boat by Bevan. I know all this because there is a website dedicated to the boat where you can take a virtual tour, just search the name and it is easily found. The sextant is made of brass and has been lacquered to protect against the salt water. It appears to be all in working order but it is possibly it could just be an ornament rather than accurate functioning item. The box is solid and well made with a glass top, for size reference the box measures 17cm x 17cm and is 11cm high, please take the time to see the many photos provided for further details of design and condition. Great original condition. Marks commensurate with age.
